ABOUT
KOK ART & CRAFT CO.

FURNITURE MADE THROUGH CONVERSATION, CRAFT, AND CARE.
SINCE 1981.

Kok Art & Craft Co. is a fourth-generation bespoke furniture designer and maker in Kuala Lumpur, family-owned and devoted to the fine art of timber craftsmanship since 1981.

Every piece begins with a conversation: the space it will inhabit, the function it must serve, the references that inform it, and what the client needs it to become.

From there, we develop the work through proportion, solid timber selection, joinery, finishing, and careful workshop execution.

Our clients include design-conscious homeowners, interior designers, architects, cafés, hospitality operators, and commercial spaces.

We collaborate closely with each of them to shape commissions that express cultural heritage with a clear design identity.

For over four decades, our process has remained constant: begin with culture, design as art, and craft for heritage.

WHY CLIENTS WORK WITH US.

Clients come to us when the requirement is specific —
a piece that must fit a space, support a function, carry a design direction, or solve something ready-made furniture cannot.

01 / WE LISTEN FIRST.

Every project begins with understanding what the client wants, what the space needs, and how the piece will be used.

We work through conversations, measurements, drawings, references, and practical requirements so the final piece is guided by the brief, not assumption.

02 / WE BUILD WITH CRAFT.

We work with solid timber such as Melunak and Merbau, selected for their durability, grain, warmth, and suitability for long-term furniture making.

Each piece is shaped through proportion, finishing, and traditional interlocking joinery — a method that requires precision, patience, and experienced hands. This is where the premium value of the work sits: in the material, the construction, and the details that allow the piece to hold, age, and endure.

03 / WE SOLVE NON-STANDARD NEEDS.

Some spaces need more than standard dimensions. Some briefs require a specific proportion, function, finish, or construction detail.

Bespoke work allows the piece to be made around the space, the purpose, and the problem it needs to solve — not adjusted after the fact.

CRAFTED SINCE 1981.
BUILT FOR HOW SPACES LIVE TODAY.

For over four decades, Kok Art & Craft Co. has carried forward a family legacy of timber craftsmanship.

Our foundation is traditional craft, but our work continues to evolve with contemporary homes, design-led interiors, commercial spaces, and restoration needs.
We respect the patience of older methods while adapting to the way people live, work, host, and gather today.

01 / HERITAGE.

We are a fourth-generation family-owned workshop, shaped by timber knowledge, handwork, and a long-standing respect for craft.

Since 1981, our work has been guided by patience, precision, and the belief that furniture should be made with care from the beginning.

02 / BREADTH OF WORK.

Our work spans bespoke furniture, custom cabinetry, restoration, refurbishment, and reupholstery.

Each project is approached according to its material, condition, function, and intended use — whether it is a new commission or an existing piece that deserves to be restored with care.

04 / BUILT TO LAST.

We build with long-term use in mind.

Through solid timber, considered proportions, traditional interlocking joinery, careful finishing, and workshop discipline, each piece is made to hold its structure, age with character, and remain useful over time.

03 / MADE TO SPECIFICATION.

Every detail can be considered: dimensions, proportions, timber, finish, joinery, upholstery, and the way the piece relates to its space.

We welcome collaboration, whether the project begins from a reference, measurement, drawing, design direction, or existing furniture piece.
